HR System Selection Challenges

By / February 26, 2014 / / 0 Comments

Earlier this month we ran a webinar covering the nuts and bolts of HR System Selection.

To kick off the webinar, we ran a short poll asking “What is your biggest challenge when selecting a new HR system?” with the following possible answers:

  • Ensuring legislative compliance
  • Evaluating solutions
  • Finding suitable vendors
  • Matching technical requirements
  • Measuring Costs and ROI
  • Specifying requirements

The results show that the top two challenges faced by organisations were:

  1. Specifying Requirements – 41%
  2. Measuring Costs and ROI – 33%

To me this is not surprising that “Measuring Costs and ROI” ranked so high. In the last three years cost and budget has been the major road block to investment in HR technology for participants in our Australian HR Technology Report.

Of interest “Ensuring legislative compliance” was listed as the lowest challenges for organisation at only 4% potentially indicating confidence that the solutions offered in Australia meets the base legislative requirements.

A recording of this session is available for those who missed it.

For those who need a detail look at the HR System Selection process, we are running a series of workshops around Australia.  Here’s a short video from one of the participants from last week’s Melbourne workshop.
